Settings
This page is about what can be set on the display, from where, and what cannot.
There are no settings on the display. No menu, no cog, no hidden tap. You set everything from your phone, in the Controller.
Where to find them
On the phone, open the menu and go to the Connect page. Under Connected Devices every display gets a card with its code on it. Tap the card and its row of settings opens up.
Three small icons along the right edge of the card show the current state without your having to open it: the hand, the eye and the QR icon light up green when that switch is on.
What you can set
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Show player hands | switches the hand strips along the edges of the screen on or off |
| Reveal all hands | shows every hand openly; it appears only to an administrator, and it is only live while the hand strips are switched on |
| Show QR code | shows the party’s QR code in the display’s bottom right corner, so a new player can join |
| Disconnect display | takes the display out of the party; it returns to the waiting screen |
Separately per display
The settings belong to the display, not to the party. If there are two displays in the party, you can show hands on one and not on the other.
The party remembers what you set. If a display drops out and comes back, it comes back the way you left it.
Who can set them
Any player in the party can switch the hand strips and the QR on, not only the host. Disconnecting is open to anyone as well.
What cannot be set
- the language: the display’s few captions are English only
- the camera: you cannot move the view from the phone, see Camera
- the screen’s brightness or power saving: that is the TV’s business
- which area it should show: the display always shows the whole table
- the curtain: only the area’s owner can draw that, on their own phone, and from then on it covers on the display too, see The table
